Soapstone Collectable Animals

Hand made by the Kissi Tabaca Cooperative Society these delighful animals have been carved from a single piece of rock. The practice involves carving under water or utilising running water from the stream so you can just imagine the state of the carvers hands after thirty or forty years at this. Available appx 3" high and as elephant, lion, dolphin, buffalo, hippo and rhino. It takes an experienced carver about 2 hrs to craft the basic shape and another hour to finish.
