Take a Journey with us ...............

Welcome to the world of Jambohut
We’re glad that you are interested enough to read this pamphlet. It means a lot to us, but even more so for the thousands of producers, particularly in Kenya, an area we specialise in, and to whom we pay a fair price. Our giftware range extends to over 600 products and all share the same high Fair Trade standards. The important fact is that all our gifts are fair trade but NONE have a fair trade premium. In other words you will pay the same price for our range as you would for similar products which are not fair trade.

Fair Trade – the heart of our business!
We are an importer member of the British Association for Fair Trade Shops (BAFTS) and members of the International Fair Trade Association (IFAT). IFAT`s mission is to enable producers to improve their livelihoods and communities through Fair Trade. Something that Jambohut supports 100%.

As well as the fair price, we uniquely pay individual producers and artisans directly to avoid corruption. We pay 10% over the cost price to fund community projects chosen by the producer groups, but we control the money, again avoiding the potential for corruption. All of our products are made from sustainable or recycled materials. For every tree used we plant 3. We don’t allow child labour or discrimination of any kind and we have health and educational policies and the money we pay supports over 40,000 producers and their families.

Our promise to you
At Jambohut we provide you with a complete no quibble guarantee on the quality of all our products. We believe in looking after our customers and you will see that the quality of the genuinely handicraft goods are excellent, and at a price which is surprisingly low.

Working harder to help you
Jambohut products are individually hand crafted and such are unique. It therefore has to be accepted that products will vary slightly. It is for this reason that Jambohut follows its own impeccable standards of quality in the way we select and provide our products and services. This is important so that you understand why there will be minor variations in size and colour. This reflects the true meaning of fair trade and its principles.

What you can expect from us
Manners cost nothing and personally we would not want to buy from anyone with attitude. Our polite and friendly service is here to help you every step of the way, and are on hand to answer any queries you may have in respect of the products, the producers, fair trade concepts, or any part of our service to you.

Buying
Buying is easy, why would we make it difficult. You can pay cash, credit card, cheque or barter with your goat herd, we really don’t mind.

Look out for the special offers that are always available and why not try it the African way and barter for the items you want. What have you got to lose

If we haven’t got in stock what you want then just place an order, we just ask you to provide us with an address, so that we can provide you with a confirmation of your order and to confirm your delivery requirements as soon as possible.

You can expect to have your order despatched within 7 working days from receipt of your order, directly from the producer group. Please feel free to contact our customer service office if you wish to check on stock availability on 01233 860476.

Delivery
We will deliver the goods to the address you specify, and always aim to deliver the goods by the date quoted for delivery, although we cannot always guarantee a specific delivery time. If delivery is delayed due to any cause beyond our reasonable control, we will extend the delivery by a reasonable period and will always contact you in good time to arrange an alternative date that is acceptable.

Sometimes things don’t always go right
We are committed to providing very high standards of products and service to every customer, every time, regardless of how you do business with us. We do recognise however, that occasionally things may go wrong or we may not live up to our promises. Your comments, good or bad, are very important. Not only do they allow us to improve our service, but allow us to identify any areas that could benefit from further development. If you feel there is something we can do better, then we want to hear from you.

Supporting the future of Fair Trade
Jambohut has been around for years and will continue into the future, but we do recognise that we need to form lasting relationships with customers. We also want our customers to feel more involved inn the whole journey that is the Jambohut Experience. So we have created facilities where you can see your products being made, or similar ones via web and IT links and we have facilities for you to contact the producers via email or arrange visits to see them in action and hear for yourselves what good is being done.

So that’s your journey, did it do it for you?
